What is a corner bath?

A corner bath sits in the corner of the room instead of against a flat wall. One end is angled into the corner while the other curves or squares off into the room, freeing up floor space that a straight bath would take up. A space saving corner bath is a popular choice for small bathrooms or awkward layouts where a straight bath won't fit.

Types of corner baths

Corner baths come in a few configurations, each suited to a different bathroom layout and use.

• Left-hand corner baths: have a wider showering end on the left, with the waste and taps set to the right for easy access.

• Right-hand corner baths: mirror this layout, with the showering end on the right, suiting rooms where plumbing sits on that side.

• Single-ended corner baths: have the waste at one end only, giving more room to stretch out and soak.

• Double-ended corner baths: have the waste in the middle, so either end can be used for reclining.

• Curved corner baths: have a rounded front edge, softening the shape of the tub.

• Back to wall corner baths: sit flush against the two walls behind them, with only the front panel on show.

• 1800mm corner baths: Suit spacious bathrooms and taller users who want more room to lie back.

Always check the full corner bath dimensions before buying. Heights range from 700mm to 900mm and depths from 300mm to 500mm. How to measure for a corner bath

Measure both walls from the corner, plus the overall width and depth of the space, before you order. Check that the door swing and any nearby pipework won't be in the way. If you want a corner bath with shower, also check the ceiling height and any windowsills so the shower screen has room to sit above the tub.

Corner bath materials

Our corner bath panel options come in acrylic or moisture resistant MDF. Acrylic panels are lightweight, waterproof and easy to wipe clean, and are typically found on most modern corner baths. Moisture resistant MDF panels give a more solid, furniture-like finish, ideal if you’re looking for a traditional corner bath look. We stock grey and white corner baths across both materials.

How to fit a corner bath

Fit the adjustable leg set, then lower the bath into the corner and check it sits level against both walls. Connect the waste and overflow before fitting the panel, then seal the joins where the bath meets the wall and floor. If you’re fitting a corner bath with a shower, fit the screen last, so it isn't knocked during installation.
