Right-Handed Baths

A right handed bath is built for bathrooms where your shower head and taps sit on the right hand wall. The whole purpose of this tub is to give you a dedicated shower zone without losing your relaxing bath. The right hand side widens out into an L shape. This gives your arms plenty of elbow room to wash and keeps shower water inside the glass screen. The left side stays slim so you can lie back and relax without sitting on the plughole. A right hand bath lets you fit a complete right hand shower bath into your existing pipe layout easily. Sizes range from compact 1500mm lengths up to 1700mm family sizes with matching screens and panels.

What is a right handed bath and how do you spot one?

You simply need to stand the front of the bath to determine whether its left or right handed bathtub.

  • Shower Section on the Right: Stand facing the long front side of the tub. On a shower bath right hand model, the wider showering section and the waste drain sit on your right hand side.

  • Tapered Bath End on the Left: The narrower end where you rest your back sits on your left. This setup lets you lie back comfortably without sitting on the drain or bumping the shower taps.

  • Perfect for Corner Layouts: If your shower taps and water pipes are fixed to the right hand wall, a right handed bathtub fits your room layout naturally without moving plumbing pipes.

What makes a right handed bath the correct choice for your bathroom?

A right handed bath is the right choice when your bathroom plumbing requires the tap and drain end on the right side.

  • Comfortable Reclining End: The left end provides a smooth, gentle slope for resting your back. That means you can lie back and soak peacefully without your head or shoulders resting against taps, wastes, or shower controls.

  • Fits Room Corners Neatly: Placing the working end in the right hand corner keeps open floor space clear. This layout leaves walking paths open and prevents the tub from crowding nearby toilets or basins.

  • Flexible Bathing for the Whole Family: Choosing a right handed shower bath works brilliantly whether you want a deep evening soak or a quick wash. You get a full sized tub for kids bath times with the option to shower easily in the same footprint.

What sizes are available for right hand baths?

Our right handed bathtubs are available in a variety of sizes.

  • Compact 1500mm Lengths: Measuring 1500 x 850mm, these compact tubs are ideal for small en suites or narrow bathrooms. You get a full showering experience even in rooms where space is tight.

  • Popular 1600mm Mid Sizes: An l shaped bath 1600 right hand option offers the ideal balance for average UK homes. It provides generous legroom for bathing while leaving space for a vanity unit nearby.

  • Full Sized 1700mm Bathtubs: Measuring 1700 x 850mm, this standard dimension acts as a direct replacement for traditional bathtubs. You can upgrade your old bath without needing to retile the entire room.

Which panels and screens work with a right hand shower bath?

Completing your tub with matching panels and glass creates a neat, watertight bathing area:

  • Hinged and Fixed Glass Screens: Bundling a right hand shower bath with screen keeps water spray inside the tub. You can pick sleek chrome or bold matt black frames with fixed or pivoting glass panels.

  • Matching Front Bath Panels: Fitting a right hand l shaped bath panel neatly hides all underlying pipework and support legs. You can choose lightweight glossy acrylic or sturdy moisture resistant MDF panels.

  • Protective End Panels: If your tub does not sit between two walls, an l shaped bath panel right hand end piece finishes the exposed short edge for a tidy look.

*Browse matching glass panels in the Bath Screens section to complete your setup.

How do you choose the right handed bath for your room?

Selecting the correct right handed bath requires checking your bathroom layout before ordering:

  • Check Your Tap Wall: Look at where your shower valve and water pipes are installed. If your shower head hangs on the right hand wall, you need a right hand tub to catch the water spray safely.

  • Measure Door Clearance: The wider shower end extends 850mm into the room. Check that nearby bathroom doors, vanity drawers, and radiators can open freely without bumping the bath edge.

  • Pick Your Bath Panel Finish: Match your bath panel material to your bathroom style. Gloss white acrylic panels reflect light to brighten small rooms, while painted MDF panels add a solid, high end furniture finish.
