Rimless Toilets
What is a rimless toilet?
A rimless toilet is a toilet pan with no inner rim around the top of the bowl. Traditional toilets have a recessed rim that directs flush water around the bowl but also creates a hidden ledge where bacteria, limescale and waste residue can build up out of sight and out of reach of a toilet brush. Removing the rim eliminates that ledge entirely. Water is instead directed around the bowl through jets moulded into the ceramic itself, giving a more thorough and even flush.
What are the benefits of a rimless toilet?
Rimless toilets offer clear advantages over traditional rimmed models:
-
Easier to clean. With no hidden rim, the entire bowl surface is visible and reachable. A standard toilet brush or cloth can clean the full bowl in one pass.
-
More hygienic. Bacteria and limescale have nowhere to accumulate out of sight. This is particularly relevant for family bathrooms and households with children or elderly users.
-
Better flush coverage. The rimless design allows water to flow directly across the full bowl surface, reducing the risk of waste remaining after flushing.
-
Modern appearance. The clean, uninterrupted bowl profile looks more contemporary than a traditional rimmed toilet and suits modern bathroom aesthetics well.
What types of rimless toilets are available?
Our rimless toilet range covers three mounting types, each suited to different bathroom layouts and preferences:
-
Rimless close coupled toilets: the cistern sits directly on top of the pan. A straightforward installation that suits most bathrooms.
-
Rimless back to wall toilets: the pan fits flush against the wall with the cistern concealed behind it, either within a back to wall toilet unit or inside a wall. A cleaner look with no exposed cistern.
-
Rimless wall hung toilets: the pan is mounted to the wall with no floor contact. The cistern is concealed within the wall frame. Wall hung models create the illusion of more floor space and make cleaning around the base of the toilet much easier.

What flush types do rimless toilets have?
Our rimless toilets are available with two flush types: dual and tornado. Dual flush rimless toilets are the most common type, with a two-button mechanism that lets you choose between a full flush and a reduced flush. The majority of our rimless range features dual flush as standard. A rimless toilet with a tornado flush is a pressurised flush system that directs water in a powerful circular motion around the bowl, combining the hygiene advantages of the rimless design with an especially thorough clean. Available on selected models including the Oslo, Grace, Avenza and Luton ranges.
What pan height options are available?
Our rimless toilets are available in three pan height configurations:
-
Standard height: the most common pan height in UK bathrooms. Suits most users and the majority of existing bathroom layouts.
-
Comfort height: sits slightly higher than standard, typically by 30mm to 50mm. Easier to sit down on and stand up from, which is particularly beneficial for taller users and those with mobility considerations.
-
Short projection: a shorter depth from wall to front of pan, designed for bathrooms where floor space is tight. Available on selected close coupled and wall hung models.
Are rimless toilets harder to install than standard toilets?
No. Installation for a rimless toilet is identical to that of a standard rimmed model of the same type. A close coupled rimless toilet installs in the same way as any close coupled toilet, and a wall hung rimless toilet requires the same frame and wall build-out as any wall hung model. The rimless feature is purely internal to the bowl and has no effect on how the toilet is fitted.
