Deep baths

Our deep baths are built for a fully immersive soak, available in depths up to 450mm that fully cover your body. Explore deep soaking tubs in lengths from 1400mm to 1800mm and a range of designs, including single-ended, double-ended and deep shower baths, all with free UK delivery.

What’s the difference between a standard and deep bath?

The main difference is depth. A deep bath holds water from 380mm to 450mm deep, well beyond the capacity of a standard bath, which typically sits at around 300mm to 350mm deep. That extra depth means a deep bath can hold up to 235 litres, enough to cover more of your body for a proper soak. With more water to fill, a deep bath naturally takes a little longer to run than a standard one, especially on a lower flow tap.

Why choose a deep bath?

A deep soak bath isn't just a bigger tub; it holds enough water to cover your shoulders and knees, rather than leaving part of your body in the cold, creating a more immersive and relaxing bathing experience. The extra depth also gives your back and shoulders more support, helping to ease tension after a long, tiring day. Choosing a deep soaking bath turns bath time into a proper wind-down, rather than just a wash.

Deep bath lengths

We stock deep baths in five lengths, so there's a fit for almost every bathroom.

  • 1400mm deep baths: A small deep bath, best for compact bathrooms or en suites with tight floor space.

  • 1500mm deep baths: A popular length, balancing size and depth well for most standard-sized family bathrooms.

  • 1600mm deep baths: A middle-ground length, giving a little extra room to stretch out compared to 1500mm designs.

  • 1700mm deep baths: The UK's most common bath length, suiting most adults comfortably.

  • 1800mm deep baths: The longest option in the range, best for taller bathers wanting maximum room to stretch out.

What types of deep baths are available?

Deep baths come in a few different shapes to suit different bathing needs and bathroom layouts.

  • Single ended deep baths have the tap and waste at one end, leaving one long, sloped end for reclining during a soak.

  • Double ended deep baths have the tap set centrally, with a sloped end at both sides so two people can bathe comfortably.

  • Deep shower baths, such as L-shaped and P-shaped styles, combine a deep soak with a wider end for standing and showering.

  • A deep corner bath makes use of an awkward corner, offering a full soak in bathrooms where a straight bath won't fit.

Deep bathtub materials

Every deep soaking bathtub in our range is made from either durable acrylic, which is lightweight, warm to the touch and easy to keep clean, or moisture-resistant MDF, which protects the underside from everyday splashes and damp bathroom conditions. Both options are built to last, giving you a hardwearing extra deep bathtub without compromising on style.

Deep bath weights and floor support

A full deep bath is heavy, holding around 200 litres of water, which adds 200kg on top of the weight of the bath itself and the person bathing. This adds up to easily over 250kg once everything's accounted for. Most ground floor bathrooms can handle this weight without any extra work. However, in upstairs rooms, especially those over older joists, it's worth asking a builder to check whether the floor needs extra noggins or bearers to spread the load evenly before you install a deep bath.

Do deep baths need a special bath waste or overflow?

Because deep baths hold more water, the overflow needs to sit higher up the bath than on a standard tub, so water doesn't spill before it reaches a comfortable depth. Most of our deep baths use a standard 45mm waste and overflow, the same size used across our range, so existing bath waste fittings will usually work. Check the product page to confirm before you buy.
