Recessed Shower Doors

A recessed shower door is the specific glass and hardware system used to close off an alcove (a space between three walls). While the "enclosure" is the whole area, the door is the moving part you use every day. Its primary function is to provide a safe entrance while keeping your bathroom floor completely dry. Whether you choose a sliding or pivot style, our recessed doors use toughened safety glass and high-grade metal to ensure they never stick, squeak, or leak. We have them available in various finishes such as chrome, black or gold and sizes to help you find the perfect match for your bathroom.

How do we make sure your recessed shower door stays steady and rust-free?

Because a recessed door is fixed directly between two solid walls, it needs a very strong anchor to stay level. If the hardware is low-quality, the glass will eventually sag. Therefore, we use high-grade aluminium profiles and stainless-steel screws to bolt the door securely into your alcove. This prevents the door from shifting or sagging, which is the most common reason for doors becoming difficult to open. In an alcove, the door must stay perfectly vertical. If it sags even a few millimetres, the magnetic seals won't line up. Our stainless-steel fixings keep the door steady so it always "snaps" shut to create a pressurized seal. Bathrooms are humid, where standard steel screws eventually leave orange rust streaks on your tiles. Our stainless-steel hardware is built to live in wet environments, keeping your recessed door clean and functional for years.

How do you measure your alcove for a perfect door fit?

Measuring is the most important part of the technical process because a recessed door must fit tight between two walls.

  • The Three-Point Check: Measure the width of your opening at the bottom, middle, and top. UK walls are rarely perfectly straight, so these numbers will often be different.

  • Ordering the Right Size: Always use the smallest of the three measurements when ordering your door.

  • Adjustable Out-Of-Wall Frame: To help with the fit, our doors come with an adjustable 20mm out-of-wall frame for easy installation and precise fitting. This allows your installer to level the door perfectly, even if your walls are slightly slanted.

Should you pick a sliding or pivot door for your alcove?

The best door for your recessed shower enclosure  depends on the "swing space" in your bathroom.

  • The Sliding Door Function: Best for small bathrooms. The door glides sideways on high-smoothness rollers. Since it doesn't swing out, it requires zero floor space, allowing you to place your sink or toilet right next to the shower.

  • The Pivot Door Function: This door swings outward on hinges. It offers a very wide entrance, making it the best choice for easy access. It has fewer moving parts, making it a very durable and minimalist choice for larger rooms.

Why are magnetic seals the most important part of your door?

The main job of a recessed door is to stop leaks. This is where the magnetic seal becomes the hero of the design.

  • The Watertight Snap: We use high-strength magnetic strips that pull the door shut automatically. This creates a pressurized barrier that is much more effective than simple plastic flappers.

  • No More Puddles: This seal ensures that even if a high-pressure shower is pointing at the door, the water stays inside. It prevents long-term water damage to your bathroom flooring.

Which recessed shower door is best for a small bathroom?

If you are working with a small bathroom or a narrow ensuite, the way your shower door opens is the most important technical decision you will make.

  • The Power of the Sliding Door: For small spaces, a single sliding door is the best functional choice. Because the door glides sideways within the frame, it requires zero floor space to open. This means you can place a toilet, basin, or towel rail right next to the shower without the door hitting them.

  • Choosing the Right Width: We offer recessed doors starting from 1000mm, allowing you to turn even the smallest alcove into a functional shower.

  • Clear Glass for More Light: To make a small shower feel less "boxed in," choose clear glass. It allows light to flow through the alcove, preventing the shower from feeling like a dark corner and making the hardware look sleek and unobtrusive.
