Toilets & Basins
Toilets and basins are the fixtures you'll use more than any other in your home, so getting them right matters from day one. Our range covers close-coupled, back-to-wall, wall-hung, rimless and cloakroom toilets, along with countertop, wall-mounted, contemporary and cloakroom basins to match.
Should I buy my toilet and basin as a matched suite?
If you're planning a full refit, a matched toilet and basin suite saves hours of cross-referencing and usually works out cheaper than buying separately. The styling, finish and bowl shape are pre-coordinated, so nothing clashes. Individual toilets or basins still make sense for smaller refreshes or when you only want to swap out one fixture.
What are the main toilet types and which suits my bathroom?
Close-coupled toilets are the UK's most common option, with the cistern sitting directly on the pan. They're easy to install and budget-friendly. Back-to-wall toilets sit flush against a WC unit to conceal the cistern for a cleaner finish. Wall-hung toilets float off the floor with the cistern hidden inside the wall.
Our buyer's guide to toilet types compares the pros and cons of each in more depth.
What basin style pairs best with my toilet?
A traditional close-coupled toilet sits happily alongside a classic pedestal or semi-pedestal basin. A back-to-wall toilet inside a back-to-wall toilet unit pairs naturally with a matching vanity unit and integrated basin for a built-in look. A wall-hung toilet works best with a wall-mounted basin or countertop basin on a floating worktop, which keeps the whole room feeling light.
How much space do I need for a toilet and basin?
UK guidance recommends at least 600mm of clear space in front of the toilet bowl, and at least 400mm from the centreline of the pan to any adjacent wall or fixture. For basins, leave enough room to lean over and wash comfortably. Cloakroom layouts can squeeze into much tighter footprints with a compact cloakroom toilet paired with a slimline basin.
Can I fit a toilet and basin in a small cloakroom?
Yes, and it's one of our most popular setups. Cloakroom toilets use shorter projections and slimmer profiles to fit under stairs and in narrow rooms. Add a compact cloakroom basin, or choose an all-in-one cloakroom suite or combination vanity unit with basin and toilet in a single piece.

What finishing touches complete the setup?
A matching toilet seat with soft-close hinges stops slamming and can last far longer than a standard hinge. Coordinated basin taps in chrome, black or brushed brass tie everything together visually.
