What is a shower enclosure?

A shower enclosure is a self-contained showering area featuring protective glass panels and a door that prevents water from splashing into the rest of your bathroom. Unlike traditional shower curtains, bathroom shower enclosures provide a sleek, modern solution that keeps your space dry whilst adding style and value to your home.

Types of shower enclosures

Finding the right type of shower enclosure for your space is simple with our comprehensive range. Each design offers unique benefits to suit different bathroom layouts and preferences. Choose from:

Quadrant shower enclosures: Curve gracefully into corners, perfect for maximising space in smaller bathrooms whilst maintaining an elegant look.

Offset shower enclosures: Asymmetrical quadrants that provide extra showering room on one side. Ideal for creating a more generous bathing area in tight spaces.

Rectangular shower enclosures: Feature classic straight lines that suit both traditional and contemporary bathrooms, offering versatile sizing options for various layouts.

Square shower enclosures: Create clean, modern aesthetics whilst fitting efficiently into corner installations. Their symmetrical design suits most bathroom styles.

Sliding shower doors: Glide smoothly along tracks, eliminating the need for clearance space outside the enclosure.

Pivot shower doors: Swing outward on hinges, providing wide access and a premium feel in medium to large bathrooms.

Bi-fold shower doors: Fold flat against the wall using innovative mechanisms. They maximise accessibility in compact spaces.

Walk-in shower enclosures: Feature fixed glass panels that create spa-like, barrier-free showering experiences.

Wet room screens: Minimalist glass panels that define showering zones whilst maintaining an open, airy bathroom feel.

Shower side panels pair with doors to create three-sided bathroom enclosures for alcove installations.

Slate effect shower trays: Combine durability with designer aesthetics. These contemporary stone-look bases complete your shower enclosure and tray package.

Frameless shower enclosures: Showcase modern elegance with minimal-edge glass panels. They make bathrooms appear more spacious through seamless transparency.

Shower enclosure sizes

Our shower enclosures come in dimensions to suit every bathroom. Heights are available in 1850mm and 1950mm options, accommodating standard ceiling heights comfortably. Depths range from 660mm for compact cloakrooms through to 1100mm for generous family bathrooms. Widths span 660mm to 1800mm. Front and end panel configurations vary. This ensures a perfect fit for your space. Whether you need a small shower enclosure for an ensuite or a large shower enclosure for a master bathroom, our sizing flexibility means you'll find exactly what you need.

What are your shower enclosures made from?

Quality sits at the heart of every glass shower enclosure we offer. Our panels are crafted from toughened safety glass, typically 6mm or 8mm thick. This provides strength and peace of mind. The glass undergoes rigorous heat treatment for durability and shatter resistance. Frames and profiles feature corrosion-resistant materials, including chrome-plated brass and aluminium, ensuring longevity even in humid bathroom environments. Every component meets strict safety standards whilst maintaining the designer aesthetic you expect, making our weatherproof shower enclosures a reliable investment.

What colours do your shower enclosures come in?

Express your style with our diverse finish options. Chrome shower enclosures offer timeless shine that complements any bathroom palette. Black shower enclosures create dramatic, contemporary statements that anchor modern schemes beautifully. Gold brass shower enclosures bring warm, luxurious tones for those seeking opulent touches. White shower enclosures provide fresh, clean aesthetics that brighten spaces. Each finish is carefully applied to resist tarnishing, maintaining its stunning appearance for years to come.

Shower enclosure styles

Beyond standard designs, our collection includes distinctive style options that add personality to your bathroom. Fluted glass panels introduce subtle texture and privacy whilst diffusing light beautifully. Silver mesh inserts create striking visual interest with their geometric patterns. Brushed brass detailing brings boutique hotel sophistication to everyday showering, while mesh-effect glass offers a unique decorative element that turns simple bathroom shower enclosure installations into design features worthy of admiration.

How to measure a shower enclosure

Start by measuring the space where your shower enclosure will be installed. Take measurements at three points, the bottom, middle, and top, as walls are rarely perfectly straight. Always use the smallest measurement to ensure your enclosure fits comfortably. Measure both the width and depth of the area. For alcove installations, be sure to measure accurately from wall to wall.

Remember to check for any obstructions such as pipes, windows, boxing, or sloping ceilings, as these can affect the fit. If your enclosure will sit on a shower tray, measure the usable internal dimensions of the tray, not just its overall size. If you’re replacing an existing enclosure, measure the opening itself, rather than the old unit as sizes and tolerances may have changed since it was first installed.

If you’re unsure at any stage, our friendly customer service team is always on hand to help guide you through the measuring process.

How to fit a shower enclosure

Step 1: Prepare the area: Ensure your shower tray is fully level and securely fixed before you begin. Use a spirit level to check that the walls are plumb (perfectly vertical), as this is essential for a proper fit.

Step 2: Mark the fixing points: Position the wall profiles where they will be installed and mark the fixing points clearly, following the manufacturer’s instructions for spacing and alignment.

Step 3: Drill and fix the wall profiles: Drill pilot holes and insert the correct wall plugs for your wall type. Tiles, plasterboard, and solid walls all require different fixings. Secure the wall profiles using stainless steel screws to prevent rust and corrosion.

Step 4: Install base channels: If your enclosure includes base channels, fix these onto the edge of the shower tray, ensuring they are straight and properly sealed for a watertight finish.

Step 5: Fit the glass panels: Carefully place the glass panels into the wall profiles, checking that they sit square and level. Take your time at this stage to avoid stress on the glass.

Step 6: Attach doors and mechanisms: Secure door hinges or sliding mechanisms according to the specific enclosure instructions. Check that doors open and close smoothly and evenly.

Step 7: Seal the enclosure: Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant to all joints between the profiles, walls, and shower tray. Allow the sealant to cure fully before use. This typically takes around 24 hours.

How to clean shower enclosure glass?

To maintain a sparkling glass shower enclosure, squeegee the glass panels after each shower to remove standing water and prevent limescale buildup. Spray the glass weekly with a mixture of white vinegar and water (50/50 ratio), leave for five minutes, then rinse and buff dry with a microfibre cloth. For stubborn limescale, apply a specialist descaler or make a paste from bicarbonate of soda and water. Gently rub affected areas, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that scratch glass surfaces.
